Spring 2023 is almost here, despite what the weather looks like out my northeastern windows!  This year, I felt like the main highlight was on bold color.  Specifically kelly green and coral.  Kelly green made a strong debut in fall, but it's really getting a main stage as a Spring color mainstay - which makes tons of sense since, well, it's spring.  Things bloom.

Steve Madden's take over of the BB Dakota line is in full affect and they're making their presence known with classic 90's style.  Lucky for them, it's trending.  You can't go wrong with these smooth sleeveless Nico bodysuits.  They come in black, white, an electric blue and - of course - kelly green.

90's to me has always echoed the 70's.  Whichever decade you'd like to give credit to, the long skirts are back in a big way.  The longer, the better.  With denim maxi's we haven't seen in a long time.  These are long to the floor with A line silhouettes popping up in all the premier denim lines.  I've been coveting and searching for a Levi's version, but I've found Free People, Agolde, Pistola and Driftwood all have versions.  If denim is not your thing, don't worry, midi skirts in florals and knits are also in favor over the mini skirt this spring.

On the opposite spectrum of the bright kelly green and coral hues, I'm also seeing a lot of muted sky and baby blue.  French Connection is running this throughout their spring line in tops, sweaters and dresses with classic cuts.  It's a nice contrast to the brights, and acts as a breath of fresh air which is something we'd all like to have in spring.

As the spring spills into summer I expect to see the same color palettes transferred into maxi dresses, shorts, and tanks.  The shorts are echoing the length trend of skirts and going long this year.  Many styles that offered only 4" and 6" inseam are extending those numbers to 10" inseams in the shorts. 

Maxi dresses are definitely making a strong presence as well with some bold colors.  Don't wait for a special occasion, just buy what you like and wear it!  A denim jacket and white tennis shoe can dress down anything to a daytime do!
